Note: this Circle started in March 2020 and can be joined anytime provided you meet the requirements.
During the pandemic, we realized the importance of coming together as a community and practicing mindfulness. We have found great value in joining each other regularly and feel supported by both the practice and the group.
Gestalt Awareness Practice is a congregational practice that supports a capacity to be present and grounded in everyday life. Since March of 2020, GAP students have been gathering weekly on a drop-in basis via Zoom to engage in the essential practices:
Taking our Seat: grounding and connecting to support
Basic Breath Practice: being in touch with the movement of breathing
Continuum of Awareness: noticing sensations, perceptions, and thoughts, moment to moment
Our experience reminds us of the Tao Te Ching verse that Dick Price often quoted:
But the Way, when declared,
Seems thin and so flavorless!
It is nothing to look at
And nothing to hear;
But used, it will prove
Inexhaustible.
Nourished and delighted by the nurturing and grounded provided by simple, ongoing practice, we continue these drop-in meetings.
If you have attended a workshop with Chris or Sharon within the last three years, we extend an invitation for you to join us. If you meet this requirement, sign up here to receive the Zoom link for Practice Circle. If you haven’t taken part in a group during that time, please contact Sharon to discuss which introductory course or refresher you may need before participating.
We meet every Monday at 6:30 PM Pacific Time. The evenings will start with 30 minutes of essential practice.
Even if you cannot attend the check-in or exercises, you can come any Monday for the 30-minute practices.
We welcome your topic requests for the theme Mondays.
