Open Seat is a practice where an individual is supported in using the tools of Gestalt Awareness Practice to contact their moment-to-moment experience. As part of this, students may explore sensations and emotion, face life situations past and present, or develop their ability for self-expression and communication. Investigating dreams is a very engaging part of this approach. Whatever the content, open seat is an interactive form of meditation and the goal is to become more present and in touch with our selves and our world.

This workshop is open to those who have attended a previous Gestalt Awareness Practice workshop with Chris. Each person in the workshop will have an opportunity to use the open seat with the support of Chris and the circle. Periods of basic practice, continuum of awareness, and group sharing will be included. Although limited to 8 open seat participants, if the workshop is full, there are a few “witness” spaces available to those who want to practice within the field (at half fee). These witnessing group members will not have an individual open seat time but will participate fully in all other respects.

Completing an Introduction to Gestalt Awareness Practice course qualifies participation in the Open Seat Intensive.

We encourage you to consider these days as time for practice, including meal times. You are welcome to bring your meals. There is a refrigerator and place to eat at the office. Restaurants with good food “to go” are within walking distance.

To register, send an email with your name, address, and cell phone number to registration@tribalground.org. We will let you know if there is space in the workshop and how to secure your place by paying a $150 non-refundable deposit. Balance of payment is due at the beginning of the workshop.

Upon registration, we will send a list of nearby accommodations and restaurants for those who are coming from out of town.
