Open Seat is a practice where an individual is supported in using the tools of Gestalt Awareness Practice to contact their moment-to-moment experience. As part of this, students may explore sensations and emotion, face life situations past and present, or develop their ability for self-expression and communication. Investigating dreams is a very engaging part of this approach. Whatever the content, open seat is an interactive form of meditation and the goal is to become more present and in touch with our selves and our world.

This workshop is open to those who have attended a previous Gestalt Awareness Practice workshop with Chris. Each person in the workshop will have an opportunity to use the open seat with the support of Chris and the circle. Periods of basic practice, continuum of awareness, and group sharing will be included. Although limited to 10 open seat participants, if the workshop is full, there are 4 “witness” spaces available to those who want to practice within the field (at half fee). These witnessing group members will not have an individual open seat time but will participate fully in all other respects.

Completing the Introduction to Gestalt Awareness Practice course qualifies participation in the Open Seat intensive. Those who attend both October courses can do so for a reduced combined fee of $575.

We encourage you to consider these days as time for practice, including meal times. You are welcome to bring your meals. There is a refrigerator and place to eat at the office. Restaurants with good food “to go” are within walking distance.

*For those interested in the 2014 ongoing Study Circle, taking both an introductory workshop and an open seat intensive qualifies you for application into the program.
