An open seat pod is a day-long meeting where three or four individuals explore in the group setting using Gestalt Awareness Practice tools with the reflection of the group leader.
Open seat is an interactive form of awareness practice intended to help us become more present and in touch with ourselves and our world. With moment-to-moment awareness as the foundation, students might explore sensations and emotions, face life situations past and present, develop their self-expression and communication, or investigate a dream.
These day-long workshops are open to those who have participated in both an Intro to GAP and an Intermediate GAP workshop, or other open seat work.**
Each meeting will begin with a brief period of essential practices. After each individual open seat, there will be a short time with a partner so participants can name their experience (“the session I had…”) Q&A about the GAP process may be included if time allows.
This format is for those who find value in being with the open seat process, both as the initiator of their own session and as a supportive witness to the exploration of others. Participants are intended to bring their awareness to each person’s session.
Attend one day and have an open seat. Or attend both days and have an open seat on one day and witness others on the other day.
