This virtual program, beginning March 26, 2020, provides an opportunity to read and reflect with others on Gestalt Therapy Verbatim by Fritz Perls. Participants will receive a suggested reading schedule and accompanying prompts leading up to each of four webinars. Throughout our discussions, both on the webinars and in an online private group, we’ll invite you to notice on two levels: experiential and theoretical. The webinars will allow work in small (dyads and triads) and larger groups.
On the experiential level we will ask: What arises as you read? Are you aware of sensations, emotions, memories or personal associations? Do you personally identify with something in the book? If so, how? Does something you are reading stimulate you? Do you find yourself touched, stirred, angry as you are reading?
On the theoretical level we will explore Fritz’s theories and techniques. You may have both comments and questions to share about Frtiz’s theories and techniques. To what ideas do you relate? Find puzzling? Take exception to? Which ideas make you want to know more? Do you have some ideas about further investigation? Or a theory that you would like to explore more experientially – i.e., how does this apply to MY life and experience?
Gestalt Therapy Verbatim is available on Kindle and other ebook formats. Print versions are available through Amazon: search for the edition labeled “mass market paperback used” for the least expensive edition.
Facilitated by Sharon Terry. Students of Gestalt Awareness Practice are welcome to participate. Prerequisite is at least an Intro to Gestalt Practice workshop (email Sharon to ask about the prerequisite if you are not sure). To register, please email Sharon. You may join late, since the webinars are recorded – access to the recordings is part of the course.
